What Happens in Vegas…

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas…sometimes. Sometimes, some things are meant to stay in Vegas, but sometimes some things are meant to be shared. While I won’t share every part of our Vegas trip, I would like to share some of our absolute favorite parts, some things we would strongly recommend, should you find yourself taking a trip down there at some point.

1. UBER/LYFT:

We went to Vegas on our Honeymoon, and had a great time…except for one tiny part…we had rented a car and got a flat tire on said rental. Not only did we pay hundreds of dollars on a rental car, but we then had to drive the car with a donut and hope nothing else happened to the car throughout our trip. This led to us not doing some of the activities we had planned off of the Strip. This time, we skipped the rental and went straight for Uber/Lyft for anything further away. You can’t beat a $3.17 Uber ride to the airport, or a $8.50 Lyft ride to the Mob Museum. We had a great experience with all of our Uber/Lyft drivers, and we didn’t have to worry about anything! Plus, it was wayyyy more cost effective. Win, win.

2. The Mob Museum:

Go there! Seriously. Don and I are both really interested in the mob/prohibition, and the mob museum was so interactive, informative, and interesting. Plus…we got this touristy photo…❤️❤️:

3. Blue Man Group:

See them! We have now seen the Blue Man Group three times (twice in Vegas and once in NYC), and I still totally recommend it! The show is incredible. It’s so funny, adorable, and an all-around good time. It’s family friendly or a fun date night, and the finale will get you on your feet.

4. Cirque Du Soleil:

Highly recommended! There are a lot of Cirque Du Soleil shows in Las Vegas, and we missed seeing one the first time we went to Vegas. This time, it was high on our to do list, and I am so glad that it was. We saw Mystere at Treasure Island, and oh my god…it was incredible! The acrobatics were phenomenal and so beautiful to watch. The show had so much heart (and some funny moments)…I could not say enough good things about it. Honestly.

5. Backstreet Boys:

YESSSSSS!!!! Let me tell you how excited I was to see Backstreet Boys in Vegas…SO MUCH EXCITEMENT…and they did not disappoint. The show was incredible from the very start. Every single person stood for the entire show (Everybodddddy, if you will…see what I did there 😉

6. Burger (also seen as BurGR) — A Gordon Ramsey restaurant:

Go THERE! Planet Hollywood is the home of ALL OF THE THINGS, Britney, JLo, BSB, BurGR….and it’s soooooo amazing. We tried to go to BurGR three times during our Honeymoon, and every time, the restaurant was packed and on a long wait. We didn’t have nearly enough time to wait, so we missed out. This time though, we knew, and we planned for it. This time, we were there before it opened and waited in line. And let me tell you….it was SO worth the wait. The food was incredible, the service was on point, and we started our day out on such a good note.

7. The Fountains of Bellagio:

Let’s just look at this….tell me it’s not beautiful and breathtaking. The fountains are synchronized to music and perform every hour. And it’s so wonderful.

8. Fat Tuesday’s:

No open container laws mixed with Alcoholic Slushies (and no driving because see point #1 for Uber/Lyft)… Umm, yes, please.

9. Treasure Island:

Yep, that’s right, I’m putting an entire Casino on here. We stayed at TI on our Honeymoon, and everything about it was wonderful. We won money there. We were upgraded to a Strip view room for free (because we mentioned being on our Honeymoon). The staff was so nice. The gift shops had so many things we wanted to buy/bring home as clothing/souvenirs. The buffet was delic. We had such a great time that even though we decided to stay somewhere else this time (to try something new….Mistake!), that we came back for the buffet, the gambling, the shops, the comfort…and our first Cirque Du Soleil show, and it was just as wonderful as before.

Honorable mentions of things we enjoyed quite a bit:

  • The view on both plane rides
  • The Zombie Burlesque show
  • The Monorail
  • The Hoover Dam
  • People Watching on the Strip

Until Next Week, we’ll just go plan our next Vegas trip…be right back. 😉

Xoxo,

Ashley
